This week-end course will provide you with the skills, knowledge and confidence so that you can begin your journey as a professional Tarot reader. Knowledge of the Tarot can help you better understand your journey through life. Thus the Tarot can be a complicated science. Many readers have had to stumble blindly down the path, learning from a few books or by trial and error, in their determination to master this ancient art. Being shown the how to’s, tricks and shortcuts is the best way to learn and can save you a lot of time
All of humanity can identify with the symbols that illuminate the leaves of the Tarot. These images of different personages dwell in our collective subconscious. Like footsteps on the path, links in a chain or stairs, one follows the other in the way that we progress when we begin our soul’s spiritual journey. But more on this in the workshop.. Everything in the universe has it own pace of progression along this path dependant on knowledge acquired. The Tarot is a map of the knowledge to be acquired on this spiritual path.
The skilled reader looks at the personal map laid out in the spread of their client and can tell them what points of interest they will encounter next, what is in store for them, where they have been and ultimately, if they stay on this chosen path, where they will arrive.
The 22 cards of the Major Arcana have by themselves: - 727,000,777,607,680,000 possible combinations.
Seeing as how we only have 6,000,000,000 people alive on the planet you can see how there is plenty of room for each individual to find their personal life map.
The deck is composed of 78 cards. These are divided into 22 Major and 56 Minor Arcana cards.
The Major Arcana are composed of 21 cards numbered 1-21 and one unnumbered card (0) called The Fool symbolising the human as they exist before they put their foot on the path. The Minor Arcana are divided into 4 suites Cups, Swords, Pentacles and Wands. Each suite has numbered cards from 1 – 10 plus a King, Queen, Knight and Page. The minor are the origin of the playing cards in use to this day.

Reading The Cards
The origin of the Tarot Cards is shrouded in Mystery. Western history’s first documented tarot deck is in Italy in the middle ages. Yet the symbolism expressed in the images are decidedly connected to the ancient mysteries and to the Egyptian Hermetic initiation rites.
Recent discoveries in China and India of decks of cards containing the same symbology but dating back thousands of years, indicates that the Gypsies in their migration from India to the middle east and then to Europe may have spread the Tarot’s usage in their wake. Indeed the Tarot is often referred to as "The Sacred Book Of The Gypsies."
