If I want to get into an argument
these days all I have say is:- There is no 'Nobility in Poverty' only degradation.
'Nobility in Poverty' is a Christian
concept anyway. "Ahhh, but..." I hear
you say "...it is also a Taoist, Hindu, Moslem,
Semitic, Druidic, Shaman, etc... concept. But all
of the orders just mentioned are 'very wealthy',
and in tribal cultures the Shaman is always paid
and paid to the best of their ability to pay...
there is always fair exchange and much appreciation
and often extravagant gifts and large donations
are given. Even the Buddhist, who also take a vow
of poverty, are extravagantly paid by a family or
township for performing rituals. I have traveled
a lot and seen this for myself.
Remember there is no such thing
as a free lunch....
it always cost someone something.
The earth yields up her fruit
but only by our toil...
A child is born only after a seed
is planted. It is nurtured for 9 months, and
then, after much labor, it is born & the
real work begins.
Love is not free. It is only by investing
time, effort, and work into a relationship
that it will begin grow and survive. The most
common reason given for relationship breakdown
these days is financial strain. Resentment
is also generated when one partner carries
the burden of paying most of the bills.
So
why do we expect everything for free in Australia?
Why does this raise such aggressiveness in
people? When all I am telling them is - they
don't have to be poor and struggling if they
don't want to! That they have a right to earn
as much money as they want and to charge what
they like for what you have on sale... & if
you don't like the price don't buy the goods.

the sad fact is the most Magickans and Pagans
live in poverty. Why do you think this is so?
Sure some choose to rebel and opt out of the system
in a big way. If someone truly and consciously
chooses to be totally alternative... they are
seldom critical of the ones who do well. It's
the ones who unconsciously limp around in limbo,
thinking that they somehow have to live in a certain
poverty-stricken way and resenting it and resenting
those who choose not to... that I most want to
address.
I don't! I made up my mind a long
time ago what type of life I wanted and I asked
the Gods for it. There are many who are wealthier
than I but still, my lifestyle is not too bad...
I want for nothing, I always have enough money
to do whatever I want, I live in a 10 bedroom
home on a 160 acres of paradise peaceful rainforest,
waterfalls & orchids, my children have the
best lifestyle possible and I travel whereever
in the world I want to go... and I have helped
so many others to prosper over the years.
